The fan was delivered as promised within the stated time. Installation was slowed a bit due to my concern when I saw space remaining between the ball socket (supports the fan at the ceiling box) and the decoratinve cover mounted against the ceiling that covers the ball socket. Ball socket is probabily not the proper name. The picture in the assembly instructions clearly showed the ball socket mounted flush against the ceiling and there would be this space. So my hesitation and concern was unfounded. Luckily for me I had 2 other Monte Carlo brand fans in my house where I could see this same space.

I bought two of these fans and lightkits for our new semi-enclosed deck. The fans and lights came in good order, shipping boxes were on the verge of coming apart, but there was no damage to the products. I wanted the largest most efficient fan possible and feel these meet the bill for the money without spending the big money for a BAF. I did have a problem getting the remote control module fitted into the tight sloped space next to the ceiling and had to mount one fan three times to get enough room. There would of been no problem had I mounted it on a flat ceiling. The pitch of the ceiling was a 8. The fans have performed well, they are quiet, and seem to be in balance. One shakes a little at the medium speed, but nothing to be alarmed about. The workman ship was up to par. One problem is finding extension bars to match the color. To get the job done, I had to use 24" polished brass on a antique colored fan. It looks ok but if you know you are going to use extensions bars, make sure to order them in the matching color. One more thing, they are the smaller size, not the 3/4" you think they should be.
